Whalen turned in the best start of his career on Sunday in a 4-1 Immaculata victory over Keystone. He went the distance for his first career complete game and twirled a one-hitter in the process, while striking out eight and walking just one. He allowed a first inning walk and a fourth inning triple, but retired every other hitter he faced. He finished the game by setting down the final 11 Giants, and he retired the side in order five times on the day.
