Ortiz set a new school record for a 5k race (19:36.11) as she beat last year's previous record (19:42.16) by six seconds. Ortiz placed 15th out of 162 runners which was comprised of NCAA Div II and III schools. Ortiz currently owns both the 5k and 6k record times for Centenary College.
