Derek Walter competed in the Susquehanna Multi & Easter Invite where he finished in 10th place with an AARTFC-qualifying 5239 points in his first career decathlon. On Thursday, Walter finished the 100m (4th; 11.29), long jump (11th, 5.98m), shot put (12th, 8.85m), and 400m (6th, 52.49).  On Friday, Walter finished the 100m Hurdles (7th, 16.55), discus (16th, 18.71m), pole vault (12th, 2.75m), javelin (6th, 43.11m), and 1500m (7th, 4:53.02).
