Immaculata University’s Bridget Welz (So., Guard, Flourtown, PA Gwynedd-Mercy Academy) was named the Colonial States Athletic Conference women’s basketball player of the week for the week ending February 21st. Welz recorded two double-doubles as Immaculata went 2-1 in the CSAC this past week. She shot 54.8 percent from the field and was perfect from the foul line (12-for-12) in the three games as she helped Immaculata to wins against Rosemont and Gwynedd-Mercy. The Flourtown, Pa., native put up game highs of 24 points and 16 rebounds against Rosemont, while adding four assists and six steals. Welz was 7 of 13 (.538) from the field and went 8 of 8 at the foul line against the Ravens. Her other double-double came in a 76-59 win against Gwynedd-Mercy with 14 points and 12 rebounds. In the week's other contest, she recorded 10 points and four assists in a loss at Neumann.
