Misevicius Named to NABC East All-Star Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior forward Kevin Misevicius of Cabrini College has been invited to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III Senior All-Star Game to be played March 20 at the Salem Civic Center in Salem, Va. Misevicius has been named to the NABC East All-Star Team.
Misevicius helped lead the Cavaliers to a school-record 25 overall victories and back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since the 2001-02 season, recording a team-best 19.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocks per game. He shot 84.3 percent from the free throw line.
Misevicius became the 14th 1,000-point scorer in program history, completing his Cavalier tenure with 1,123 career points and listing ninth all-time. He finished his collegiate career overall with 2,095 points, including two seasons at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
Misevicius owns several program records, including single-game standards in points (45), field goals made (18) and free throws made (16). He has posted the top two single-season scoring performances in program history, tallying 580 points in 2008-09 and 543 points in 2009-10.
Misevicius added another end-of-year honor to his mantle on March 16, earning D3Hoops.com Mid-Atlantic Region First Team Distinction. He was also named the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player of the Year and received conference first team recognition.
Misevicius is one of just two players selected to the NABC All-Star Game from the Mid-Atlantic Region, joining DeSales University’s Darnell Braswell. Dr. Mike Beitzel, who coached for 20 seasons at Hanover College, will head the East squad.
The NABC All-Star Game will be played on March 20 at 10:30 a.m., prior to the NCAA Division III national title game at 1:30 p.m. The senior all-star players were nomninated by coaches and selected by a panel of coaches representing each region in Division III.
