Baptist Bible Hires Assistant Athletic Director and Women's Basketball Coach
Clarks Summit, Pa - Baptist Bible College is pleased to announce the hiring of Amber Jacobs as their Assistant Athletic Director and Women's Basketball Coach. She will be added to the Defender Athletic Department Staff and take the place of Matt Pollock, the women's head basketball coach for the past three seasons. Amber Jacobs brings her experience as a player and coach as well as her enthusiasm for the game of basketball and for God's Word to Baptist Bible College.
Amber Jacobs was a high school standout as she grew up locally in Clarks Summit, Pa and player for Abington Heights High School. Her senior year at Abington Heights, Amber was named Miss Basketball in the state of Pennsylvania. In her playing years at Boston College (2000-04), Jacobs was an All-Big East Team player and named an All-American Honorable Mention. She played in the WNBA as a professional basketball player for five years (2004-08), most of which with the Minnesota Lynx. Jacobs also served as an assistant coach for the University of Toledo for two seasons (2004-06) and for the University of Rhode Island for one season (2009-10).
Jacobs is excited to be on board at Baptist Bible College and be involved in the Athletic Department and in coaching. "I'm absolutely thrilled to be back and be a part of the BBC community," said Amber. "This is something that's been ongoing for a few months. God has been leading me through this process." She is also looking forward to the relationships she will be able to build with the staff and her players.
The Athletic Department is happy to have Amber on staff and eager to see where her professionalism and experience can take the program.
