2013 CSAC Men's Tennis Awards Announced
ASTON, Pa: The Colonial States Athletic Conference has announced its 2013 Men's Tennis End of Year Awards, as voted upon by the league's head coaches. These awards include Player, Rookie, and Coach of the Year, as well as First Team, Second Team, and Honorable Mention All-CSAC and the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team.
Immaculata University's Troy Donato (Hockessin, Del. / Alexis I. duPont) has been named the 2013 CSAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Year. The sophmore went 6-1 in singles play against conference foes at the number-one flight, while he went 11-3 overall. Donato helped Immaculata to a 10-4, 6-1 CSAC record and the number two seed in this weekend's upcoming CSAC Men's Tennis Championships.
The 2013 CSAC Men’s Tennis Rookie of the Year is Baptist Bible College’s Spencer Fountain (York, ME / Homeschooled). Fountain, a freshman, held down the number four spot in singles for the Defenders posting a 6-1 record against CSAC opponents. In doubles play at the top flight, he went undefeated with partner Caleb Evans for Baptist Bible, which ended the regular season with a 5-2 CSAC record and the number-three seed in this weekend's upcoming CSAC Men’s Tennis Championships.
Marywood University’s Art Comstock has been voted the 2013 CSAC Men’s Tennis Coach of the Year, after guiding the Pacers to a perfect 7-0 record in league play and the top seed in this weekend’s CSAC Men’s Tennis Championship Tournament. This marks the fourth straight undefeated CSAC campaign for Marywood under Comstock, who has guided the Pacers to each of the past three CSAC tournament championships. This is the third straight season in which Comstock earns Coach of the Year laurels.
