Tyheim Monroe collected his second National Player of the Year honor today, as the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) bestowed its top honor on Monroe today.
Monroe, who was also named National Player of the Year by DIII News, joins Aaron Walton-Moss as the only Cabrini players to earn the recognition. Walton-Moss claimed the award in both 2015 and 2016.
In the 37 years the NABC has named a Division III Player of the Year, three have now worn the Blue and White, joining SUNY Potsdam and Amherst with the most honorees.
Monroe posted an historic season in leading the Blue and White to a 25-4 record and its 14th Colonial States Athletic Conference championship.
A two-time CSAC Player of the Year, Monroe averaged 21.5 points and 14.7 rebounds, second in Division III. The senior also led the nation with 427 total rebounds, 10.86 defensive rebounds, 25 double-doubles and two triple doubles. He also ranked in the nation's top 25 in four other categories.

Monroe's 18.8 career scoring average ranks fifth in league history, while his 796 career field goals made are third on the conference's career list.
Among all active players in Division I, II or III, no one has recorded more career rebounds (1,480), rebounds per game (13.7) or double-doubles (83) than Monroe. His 2,030 points list fifth among active Division III players and 26th among active players in Divisions I, II and III.
