Keystone the top pick in CSAC Women's Basketball preseason coaches' poll
ROSEMONT, Pa. – Keystone College was the top pick of the coaches in the 2019-2020 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) women’s basketball preseason coaches’ poll released on Friday afternoon.
The Giants, who reached the CSAC title game last year before losing to Rosemont, finished with 92 points and five first-place votes.
Defending champion Rosemont, who advanced to the NCAA tournament for the first time last season, was second with 86 points and two first-place votes. Notre Dame of Maryland University was third with 74 points, while Centenary University was fourth with 66 points and one first-place vote.
The College of Saint Elizabeth, who joined the CSAC this year as a core member, got 58 points and two first-place votes.
Cairn University was sixth with 51 points, followed by Wilson College in seventh place at 45 points.
Cedar Crest College was eighth with 38 points, followed by Bryn Athyn College in ninth at 29 and Clarks Summit University in tenth
The regular season begins for three teams on Friday, November 8, while five other teams begin play on Saturday, November 9. The conference schedule starts on Saturday, November 30, with three matchups: Cairn at Keystone; Cedar Crest at Notre Dame and Bryn Athyn at Clarks Summit.
The playoffs, which will feature the top five teams, starts with the first round on Monday, February 24, 2020, with the semifinals on Wednesday, February 26 and the championship on Saturday, February 29.
