CSAC Announces 2018-19 Winter/Spring All-Academic Teams
2018-19 Winter/Spring All-Academic Team
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has named a total of 472 student-athletes to the Winter/Spring 2018-19 CSAC All-Academic Team. The CSAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.20 or better during their semester of competition, while using a full season of eligibility as determined by the NCAA.
"Each one of these student-athletes should be commended," said CSAC Commissioner
Adrienne Mullikin. "It is great to see that so many have excelled not only athletically, but also academically. These student-athletes truly demonstrate the NCAA Division III philosophy of enjoying a full collegiate experience, and they more than deserve this recognition."
Keystone College led all schools with 65 All-Academic selections, while Cairn University was second with 44 All-Academic selections. Rosemont College was third with 37 All-Academic selections.
Cedar Crest College had 56.86 percent of its winter/spring roster named All-Academic, while Clarks Summit University had 53.12 percent of its winter/spring rosters named All-Academic. Cairn was third with 50.57 percent. Seven of the nine core members had over 40 percent of their rosters named All-Academic.
A total of 114 All-Academic selections were honored as All-CSAC, while 36 All-Academic selections were named to their respective sport's All-Sportsmanship teams.
A total of 10 All-Academic selections received major end of season awards in their respective sports. They are:
Chris Panzarella (Keystone College, Baseball Player of the Year
); Julian Collazo (Cairn University, Men’s Basketball Player of the Year);
Dante Poli (Stockton University, Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year);
Luc Swedlund (Stockton University, Men’s Lacrosse Player of the Year);
Haley Yenchik (Penn State Behrend, Women’s Field Athlete of the Year);
Evan Michel (Clarks Summit University, Men’s Tennis Player and Rookie of the Year);
Alyssa Peters (Cairn University, Women’s Tennis Rookie of the Year);
Shannon Lloyd (Keystone College, Softball Player of the Year);
Megan Potter (Wilson College, Softball Pitcher of the Year);
Megan Morales (Notre Dame of Maryland University, Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year
); Mac Oribello (Keystone College, Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year);
