CSAC Weekly Reports for March 16, 2020, now available
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week in the sports of men’s and women’s lacrosse, baseball and softball for March 16, 2020. There were no nominations for men’s volleyball.
Baseball
Hitter of the Week honors went to Keystone College junior outfielder Adam Kelly. Kelly, in two games last week, went 5-fof-6 (.833) with a home run, a double, two walks and five runs scored. He also drove in four runs.
Pitcher of the Week honors went to Keystone College junior pitcher Nathan Hinkley. Hinkley tossed a complete game victory over Concordia-Chicago, logging all nine innings while scattering eight hits, allowing one earned run. Hinkley needed 113 pitches and tallied six strikeouts, nine flyouts & nine groundouts.
Honor Roll selections went to Centenary University sophomore outfielder Paul Links who hit .750 against Wilkes (3-for-4)…Clarks Summit freshman catcher Nathaniel Tutton who hit .462 (6-for-13) in four games last week.
Softball
Player of the Week honors went to Keystone College senior first baseman Shannon Lloyd. Lloyd, in six games last week, went 11-for-21 (.524) with a double, six RBI and seven runs scored.
Pitcher of the Week honors went to Centenary University senior pitcher Jessica Hewitt. Hewitt had another strong week for the Cyclones as she surrendered just four earned runs in 15 innings in the circle. She also had eight strikeouts for the week.
Honor Roll selection went to Centenary University senior catcher Juli Wright. Wright had a strong showing as she led the Cyclones to a split of their four games last week. The senior went 6-for-12 at the plate and recorded the 100th hit of her career in the win over Cazenovia.
Women’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week honors went to Centenary University senior attack Kaylee Bennett. Bennett did a little bit of everything to lead the Cyclones at Felician. The senior recorded her first hat trick of the season in the first half and later added an assist for four points on the day. One of her goals came on a free position shot. She also contributed two ground balls and had a season-high four caused turnovers.
Defender of the Week went to Cedar Crest College freshman defender Kailyn Jones. Jones had a busy night when the Falcons hosted Bryn Mawr, being in their defensive end a majority of the evening. Jones was able to pick up four ground balls, win two draw controls and forced a caused turnover.
Honor Roll selection went to Cedar Crest College sophomore midfielder Sydney Heathcott. Despite the double-digit loss to Bryn Mawr, Heathcott was productive for the Falcons on draw controls, winning three of them, and also picked up two ground balls in the contest.
Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week honors went to Stockton University senior attack Erik Anderson. Anderson had a game-high six points vs. #6 Ursinus in Stockton's only game of the week. He eied for game-high honors in goals (3) and caused turnovers (3) vs. #6 Ursinus, also scored his 100th career goal and recorded his 200th career point with an assist, both in the second quarter
Defender of the Week honors went to Stockton University junior defender Matt Honchalk. Honchalk Led all players with four caused turnovers and finished third on the team with five ground balls vs. #6 Ursinus.
Honor Roll selections went to Rosemont College senior attack Brandon Krausse who had seven goals in a win for the Ravens over Alvernia…Montclair State University sophomore midfielder Tyler McCreery who had three goals and an assist in a setback to Stevens on Wednesday…Keystone College senior midfielder Jordan Smith who had four goals for the Giants in a loss to Houghton…Keystone College senior goalkeeper Nick Vazquez who made 17 saves in Tuesday’s loss to Houghton…Montclair State University junior goalkeeper Matthew McLaren who had 17 saves in a loss to Stevens.
