CSAC Announces 2021 Men's Soccer End of Year Awards
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce its 2021 Men’s Soccer End of Year Awards. These awards including All-CSAC (First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention), Defensive, Player and Rookie of the Year, along with Coach of the Year, All-Sportsmanship and the 3-D Award.
These awards were voted upon by the league’s eight head coaches, who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
The 2021 Player of the Year is Rosemont College sophomore forward
Kaiden Fields (Orlando, Fla.). Fields, a first-team All-CSAC at forward, is the second player from Rosemont to receive this honor, joining Luke Mcilvaine back in 2014.
This season, Fields led the conference in goals with 17 and points with 42. Both of those marks are Rosemont school records. He scored a season high three goals in a win over Saint Elizabeth. He scored in all but three of Rosemont’s matches this season.
The 2021 Defensive Player of the Year is Cairn University senior goalkeeper
Kameron Clark (Ewing, N.J.). Clark, a first-team All-CSAC selection at goalkeeper, is the second student-athlete to receive the award twice as he won the award in 2019. The CSAC did not have a season in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Clark posted a conference best 0.959 GAA, while making 71 saves. His save percentage .845 is tops in the CSAC. Clark was also the Rookie of the Year back 2018, and was a first-team All-CSAC pick in 2019 and second team in 2018. He had a season high 15 saves in a win over Goucher to start the year, and posted three solo shutouts on the year and combined on two other ones.
The 2021 Rookie of the Year is
Jesse Brittain (Chester, Pa.) of Cairn University. He is the second student-athlete from Cairn to win the award in men’s soccer, joining Kameron Clark. A first-team All-CSAC selection at forward, Brittain was second in the conference in goals with 16 and in points with 38. He had a season high four goals in a win over Gallaudet.
Rosemont College head coach
John Loiodice was named as the 2021 CSAC Coach of the Year by his peers. He is the first coach from Rosemont to win the honor since Will Nord won the honor in 2009 and 2012. This year, the Ravens finished the regular season with a record of 10-4-1 and 6-0-1 in the CSAC. The Ravens also earned the top seed in the upcoming CSAC tournament.
The 3-D Award was presented to Cairn University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). The Highlanders have now won the award five times (2011, 2012, 2015, 2019, 2021).
