CSAC Announces 2021 Women's Soccer End of Year Awards

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce its 2021 Women’s Soccer End of Year Awards. These awards including All-CSAC (First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention), Defensive, Player and Rookie of the Year, along with Coach of the Year and the 3-D Award.

These awards were voted upon by the league’s ten head coaches, were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Player of the Year honors went Bryn Athyn senior forward Ashley Rivera (Southampton, Pa.). Rivera is the first player from Bryn Athyn to win the award in women’s soccer. She finished the regular season with 26 points (11g, 4a) and had four game winning goals. She scored a season-high three goals in a win over Saint Elizabeth on October 2. She was a first-team All-CSAC selection at forward.

Defensive Player of the Year went to Cedar Crest junior defender Taylor Wolf (Townsend, Del.). She is the second player from Cedar Crest to win the Defensive Player of the Year award, joining Sarah Nawrocki who won the award in 2019. She started and played in all 15 matches for the Falcons this year. A first-team selection at defender, she helped a defensive unit post ten shutouts, including seven in conference play. The Falcon defensive unit only gave up two goals in CSAC play.

Rookie of the Year honors went to Wilson College freshman defender Jade Wolfe (Mercersburg, Pa.). She is the first Wilson College student-athlete to win the Rookie of the Year award in women’s soccer. A second-team All-CSAC defender selection, Wolfe started and played in all 16 matches this year for the Phoenix.  She led a defensive unit that posted five shutouts, with all five of them coming in CSAC play.

Coach of the Year honors went to Wilson College head coach Terrance Harris. Harris, who is in his third season as coach, led the Phoenix to 10-6 mark and an 8-1 mark in CSAC play, finishing tied atop the standings with Cedar Crest. He led the Phoenix to nine wins in his first year back in 2019, while the 2020 was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 3-D Award was presented to The University of Valley Forge. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is the first time the Patriots have won the award.
