CSAC Announces 2021 Softball End of Year Awards
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2021 Softball End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC (First, Second and Honorable Mention) along with Player, Pitcher, Rookie and Coach of the Year. Also included is the 3-D Award.
Player of the Year honors went to Cedar Crest graduate student Nicole Santaniello. A first-team All-CSAC selection, she batted .520 this year with 26 hits, 23 runs scored and 22 RBI. She also had a team-best four home runs.
Pitcher of the Year honors went to Saint Elizabeth senior Alyssa Hampton. She pitched in all 16 games for the Eagles this year, striking out 64 and walking just 18. In 101.1 innings pitched, she posted a 4.01 ERA and had three shutouts.
Rookie of the Year honors went to Wilson College sophomore Alyssa Wenger. For this year, first and second year student-athletes were eligible for the award. This year, she batted .405 with a team-best 34 hits and also had 16 RBI. She also scored a team-best 36 runs.
Coach of the Year honors went to Korrissa Aguilar of Saint Elizabeth. In her first season, she guided the Eagles to a 9-9 record and a spot in the upcoming CSAC playoffs.
The 3-D Award went to Clarks Summit University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
