CSAC Announces 2021 Baseball End of Year Awards
ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its 2021 Baseball End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC (First, Second and Honorable Mention teams); All-Sportsmanship, Player, Pitcher, Rookie and Coach of the Year. The team was voted on by the coaches, who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
Wilson College junior outfielder
Brandon Cook (Glen Burnie, Md./Shepherd University) was named as the 2021 Player of the Year. This season, he batted .433 with a league-leading 39 hits. He also had a conference best 22 stolen bases, to go along with 20 RBI. He was a first-team All-CSAC selection.
Keystone College senior pitcher
Jared Rowley (Dover, Del./Dover) was named as the 2021 Pitcher of the Year. In six games this year, he posted a 3-1 record with a 3.48 ERA, striking out 41 batters while walking only 11. He was a first-team All-CSAC selection.
Keystone College freshman pitcher
Nick Gravel (Sidney, N.Y.) was named as the 2021 Rookie of the Year. A first-team All-CSAC selection, he posted a 0.00 in nine games this year, while striking out 16 in 14.1 innings of work. He also walked just seven batters.
Wilson College head coach
John Poss was honored by his peers as the 2021 Coach of the Year. The first coach in program history, Poss has now led the Phoenix into the playoffs in each of their first two seasons. This season, the Phoenix are 19-4 and 8-2 in CSAC play, earning the second seed in the upcoming playoffs.
Clarks Summit University was honored by the coaches as the recipient of the 3-D Award. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
