Keystone picked first in CSAC Field Hockey Preseason Coaches' Poll
ROSEMONT, Pa. – Keystone College was picked first by the coaches in the 2021 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Field Hockey Preseason Coaches Poll released on Wednesday afternoon.
The Giants got 60 points and four first-place votes, just two points ahead of Wilson College who got 58 points and four first-place votes. The Phoenix are the defending champion, as they defeated Keystone in overtime in 2019. The 2020 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cedar Crest College was third with 45 points, followed by Centenary University in fourth with 43 points.
Sweet Briar College was picked fifth with 23 points, followed by Bryn Athyn College and Lancaster Bible College tied for sixth with 20 points.
Notre Dame of Maryland University was picked eighth with 19 points.
Conference play commences on opening day, Wednesday, September 1, as Sweet Briar travels to Wilson.
The CSAC Championship, featuring the top four teams, is set to begin on Wednesday, November 3. The championship, to determine the CSAC’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament, is set for Saturday, November 6.
