BRYN ATHYN, Pa. – The University of Valley Forge captured the school’s first-ever Colonial State Athletic Conference (CSAC) championship with a first-place showing at the 2022 CSAC Women’s Cross Country Championships at Bryn Athyn on Saturday morning.
The Patriots tallied a team score of 44 to easily beat second-place Cairn University (74) by 30 points. Bryn Athyn College finished in third with a team score of 79.
Valley Forge placed three runners in the top eight as Hannah Kopec took home Women’s Runner of the Year honors finishing first with a time of 24:23.2. Sofia Troland (sixth – 26:39.8) also earned All-CSAC First-Team honors while her teammate Leah Yost just missed the All-CSAC First-Team by placing eighth with a time of 28:22.1.
Rounding out the All-CSAC First-Team was AyliGrace Munro of Cairn (second – 25:16.1), Jonquil Loeffelholz of Cedar Crest (third – 26:11.1), Ciara Kiely of Bryn Athyn (fourth – 26:29.1), Heidi Floyd of Clarks Summit (fifth – 26:29.1) and teammate Caden Laidlaw (seventh – 27:01.2).
Jimmy Stevenson of Valley Forge was named the Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year.
