CSAC Announces Weekly Award Winners for October 31, 2022

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week for October 31, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Field Hockey, Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer and Women’s Volleyball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.
 
This week’s selections included contests from Monday, October 24 through Sunday, October 30. A total of 34 student-athletes were recognized for their performances.
 
Field Hockey
Offensive Player of the Week
Kiley Marone | Sr. | Cedar Crest College | MF | Mohrsville, Pa./ Tulpehocken
 
Marone tallied nine points over two victories for the Falcons. She tallied a hat trick in a 4-0 win over William Paterson and with her second goal in the contest, Marone became the Cedar Crest College field hockey record holder for goals scored in a career. She then closed the week with a goal and an assist in a 3-2 win at Sweet Briar.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Alexandra Infante | Sr. | Cedar Crest College | D | Stowe, Vt./ Stowe
 
Infante helped the Falcons to a pair of victories during the week, tallying a pair of defensive saves in a 4-0 win over William Paterson.
 
Honor Roll
Keystone’s Maria Tomada exploded for four goals in Saturday's 9-0 win over Lancaster Bible, as the Giants clinched the No. 2 seed in the CSAC Tournament. Tomada's four goals are tied for fourth-most in single-game program history..…Wilson’s Lizzie Landon scored two goals and an assist in a win against Bryn Athyn to help Wilson secure a second-straight regular season championship...…Wilson’s Allyson Shindler made two defensive saves at Susquehanna on Wednesday. Morley now has a team-high and CSAC-leading 10 defensive saves on the year, which ranks fifth-most in single-season program history. Morley currently is tied for second in Division III..…Lancaster Bible’s Alyssa Hamilton had four defensive saves over the past two games as they wrapped up their 2022 season.
 
Men’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Kingsley Okoi | Jr. | Clarks Summit University | F | Atlanta, Ga./Chapel Hill
 
Okoi played a vital role in this week's matches. He fought for the team and created many chances in front of goal. Okoi scored two goals versus Valley Forge which ultimately sealed the playoff spot for Clarks Summit University.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Liam Hungate | Jr. | Clarks Summit University | GK | Royersford, Pa./Spring-Ford Senior High School 

Hungate was one of the most important pieces for Clarks Summit University's defense. He had a commanding presence in goal and led from the back. Hungate ended the week with 12 saves as well as a huge penalty save against Valley Forge which would ultimately keep the Defender's playoff hopes alive. 
 
Honor Roll
Cairn’s Jesse Brittain tallied a goal and an assist during two game on the week..…Rosemont’s Sean Milelli scored two goals and added an assist in a win over Clarks Summit.… Wilson’s Dylan Youmans ended the season on a high note as he scored two goals, including what proved to be the game winner, in a 4-2 win over Bryn Athyn on Saturday. He added an assist in a midweek clash with Keystone to give him a three-game point streak to end the year.…Keystone’s Axel Gonzalez paced Keystone with five points this week, finishing with one goal & three assists, as the Giants clinched the No. 3 seed in the CSAC Tournament.…Cairn’s Kameron Clark totaled 10 saves in leading the Highlanders to a 1-0-1 week.…Rosemont’s Tai Torres helped anchor a Ravens defense that helped the team to a 1-0-1 record on the week.
 
 
Women’s Soccer
Offensive Player of the Week
Ashley Whittaker | Gr. | Cedar Crest College | MF/F | Huntersville, N.C./Hopewell
 
Whittaker had an 11-point week over two wins for the Falcons. She had a goal and an assist in a 9-0 win at Valley Forge and finished with a hat trick and two assists against Saint Elizabeth.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Chloe Munyon | Fr. | Bryn Athyn College | GK | Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem
 
Munyon posted one shutout in two games and only conceded one goal on the week while adding seven saves in a win against Wilson.
 
Honor Roll
Wilson’s Halley Shaffer had quite the game against Rosemont with four goals as Wilson defeated the Ravens in a must-win game to host a playoff game in the CSAC Tournament..… Cairn’s Victoria Ruitto broke the Cedar Crest College single-season program record for goals scored with six goals in a 12-0 triumph over Notre Dame of Maryland. The six-goal output also tied a single-match program record.… Bryn Athyn’s Ashley Rivera scored six goals in two games including the game winner against Wilson to lock up the two seed and first round bye in the CSAC playoffs.… Keystone’s Megan Weber tallied four goals in Saturday's 8-0 victory at Notre Dame, helping the Giants secure the No. 6 seed in the CSAC Tournament. Weber's four tallies are tied for third-most in single-game program history.… Keystone’s Annie Metzger made one save in Saturday's 8-0 shutout at Notre Dame, her third clean sheet of the season..… Cairn’s Isabelle Lazor made nine saves in a win over Keystone…. Cedar Crest’s Lauren Makely recorded her fourth shutout in goal for the Falcons as Cedar Crest defeated Saint Elizabeth 8-0. The senior made one save in the win.
 
 
Women’s Volleyball 
Offensive Player of the Week
Allison Barnes | Gr. | Cairn University | MB | Macungie, Pa./Salem Christian
 
Barnes averaged 13.5 kills while hitting a blistering .578 in leading the Highlanders to a perfect 2-0 week. She added two service aces for the week. She also passed former teammate Lyntia Gwess '20 for fourth on the all-time kills list against Rosemont on Thursday.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Paulina Hernandez | Jr. | Notre Dame of Maryland University | L | El Paso, Texas/Perry Hall
 
Hernandez totaled 44 digs and 11 aces during a 2-1 week for the Gators, who clinched the No. 2 seed in next week's CSAC tournament. She matched a career high with seven aces in Saturday's 3-0 sweep at Clarks Summit and then totaled 19 digs in a tight four-set defeat at Cedar Crest, while adding 16 digs in Thursday's 3-0 sweep over Cheyney.

Saint Elizabeth’s Aryanna Baytops hit .312 for the week for the Eagles while adding a six digs.… Keystone’s Adrianna Derrick totaled 36 kills in a 3-0 CSAC week for Keystone, including a season-high 16 kills against Rosemont on Tuesday. Derrick helped the Giants clinch the No. 4 seed in the CSAC Tournament...… Notre Dame of Maryland’s Gabbi Taganas Totaled a team-high 30 kills during a 2-1 week for the Gators, hitting .250 or higher in all three matches … Cedar Crest’s Ellise Everett registered 18 kills and six blocks in two wins for the Falcons. She tallied a season-high 14 kills and added six blocks (four solo, two assisted) while hitting .429 in a 3-1 win at Notre Dame and then added four kills in a sweep of Valley Forge..… Wilson’s Deah Menedis led the team with 27 kills in a 1-1 week. Twelve of those came in a match where she hit .360 in a win that clinched a playoff bid for the Phoenix..… Keystone’s Hailey Herneisey finished with 46 digs this week, including a season-high 20 digs against St. Elizabeth. Cairn’s Lizzy Fay averaged 12 digs per set in two wins.… Cedar Crest’s Rebekka Sanchez-Castro Sanchez-Castro recorded 32 digs over two wins for the Falcons. She had 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Notre Dame and pitched in 12 against Valley Forge.… Rosemont’s Evora Kaiwi averaged 15 digs per match over three matches.
