CSAC Announces Weekly Award Winners for November 28, 2022


VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week for November 28, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.
 
This week’s selections included contests from Monday, November 21 through Sunday, November 27. A total of ten student-athletes were recognized for their performances.
 
Men’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Jesse Rivera | Gr. | Cairn University | G | Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East
 
Rivera led the Highlanders to a win scoring 21 points on 50% shooting from the field including finishing 12 of 12 on free-throw attempts. Rivera also completed the double-double adding in 10 assists.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Dashaun Cain | Gr. | Cairn University | G | Wilmington, Del./Red Lion Christian
 
Cain helped Cairn to a win in their only game of the week by controlling the defensive boards 11 rebounds and adding a blocked shot.
 
Honor Roll
Saint Elizabeth’s Syhid Daniels notched a 22 point performance while adding 5 assists and two rebounds… Clark Summit’s Hunter Plantz was perfect from the field going 4-4 from the field and 3-3 from the foul line for 11 points and four rebounds… Saint Elizabeth’s D’Angelo Blackmond had a strong showing with seven defensive rebounds, two blocked shots and a steal.
 
 
Women’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Serene Calderon | So. | Clarks Summit University | G | Corfu, NY./Pembroke
 
Calderon was one of the top scorers for the Defenders during a 2-1 week averaging over 16 points and five rebounds per game. She had a 17-point, seven rebound, eight assist performance in game one. She also added 13 assists and shot almost 50% from the field on the week.
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Kwashanti Holmes | Fr. | Keystone College | G | Yonkers, N.Y./Woodlands
 
Holmes notched a game-high ten defensive rebounds to go along with three steals and a blocked shot in the Giants’ CSAC-opening victory during the week.
 
Honor Roll
Cedar Crest’s Ashley Wilson tallied a team-high 20 points while adding five rebounds, five assists and five steals… Keystone’s Riley Berry finished with a team-high 18 points including 14 in the 3rd quarter, going 3 of 4 from deep in that period... Notre Dame of Maryland's Kori People scored 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds in a big win for the Gators.
