Cedar Crest Wins Second Straight CSAC Women's Volleyball Crown
ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Top seeded Cedar Crest College recorded a 3-0 victory over second-seeded Notre Dame of Maryland University in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC Women’s Volleyball Championship game on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons won by scores of 25-23, 25-13, and 25-15 to improve to 13-8 overall on the year. With the loss, Notre Dame falls to 17-8 overall. Tournament MVP honors went to Cedar Crest junior outside hitter Maddison Minyo.
In the first set, the Gators took an early 5-4 lead after a kill from Rosemary O’Brien. Notre Dame then extended the lead to 9-4 with a quick 5-0 run before Cedar Crest pulled to within 9-7. A 10-4 Falcon run gave Cedar Crest a 17-13 lead before Notre Dame was able to cut the lead to 21-20 late in the set. A service ace from Ava Grapsy won the set for Cedar Crest a few plays later.
The second set saw the Falcons jump out to an 11-5 lead after block assists from Alexis Cummins and Ellise Everett. A kill from Aliyah Rhoden pushed the Cedar Crest lead to 20-10 before the Falcons closed out the set, 25-13.
Cedar Crest took an early 10-6 third-set lead before the Falcons pushed the lead to 18-9 after a kill from Everett. Notre Dame pulled to within 22-15 but was not able to get closer as the Falcons secured the sweep and the CSAC championship with a 25-15 victory.
With the win the Falcons earn the league’s automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball Championship.
Notes: Cedar Crest wins its second consecutive CSAC Women’s Volleyball championship and second overall program title. This year marked the third consecutive season (excluding the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic) that Cedar Crest and Notre Dame met in the championship game.
