2022 ALL-CSAC WOMEN'S SOCCER TEAM ANNOUNCED
VILLANOVA, Pa. – In a vote by women's soccer head coaches from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC), Ashley Rivera from Bryn Athyn College was tabbed CSAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row. Cairn University's Victoria Ruitto and Wilson College's Jade Wolfe were name co-CSAC Defensive Players of the Year, while Keystone's Natalie Cross took CSAC Rookie of the Year honors. Jesse Zafiratos, head coach at Cedar Crest College, was awarded CSAC Coach of the Year.
Nationally, Rivera is second in Division III in total goals (28) and goals per game (1.75), and is third in points per game (3.81). Recognized as a clutch player on the field, she has a CSAC-leading seven game-winning goals on the season.
Ruitto contributed 7 points in just nine games for the Highlanders this season, with two goals against Keystone on October 26 and a goal / assist combo against Valley Forge on October 15.
A 2021 CSAC Rookie of the Year, Wolfe put defensive pressure on her opponents playing in all 19 games for the Phoenix this season. Her speed and tough play gets her in position to play dangerous balls in the middle of the pitch, contributing nine points (3 goals, 3 assists) for her team.
Cross is a strong influence, both offensively and defensively. She closed the season with nine goals and eight assists, totaling 26 points for the Giants. She contributed three assists in wins against Valley Forge on September 30 and Cairn on October 26.
In his first season with the Falcons, Zafiratos led Cedar Crest to a 12-4-2 record on the season, reaching the CSAC championship game. He guides a stalwart team, with nine players recognized across all-CSAC teams.
