CSAC Announces Men's Basketball End of Year Awards
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2021-22 All-CSAC Men’s Basketball team. The team, comprised of players from all eight CSAC institutions that sponsor men’s basketball, was voted upon by the coaches in the league who were not permitted to vote for their own players.
The team includes first, second and honorable mention All-CSAC, Player, Defensive and Rookie of the Year, as well as Coach of the Year and the 3-D Award. Also, players were nominated for the All-Sportsmanship team by their respective coaches.
Player of the Year went to Wilson College junior guard
Warrick Godwin, Jr., (Largo, Md.). He is the first player from Wilson to win the award in men’s basketball. He scored a season-high 33 points in a win over Clarks Summit back on January 26. He led the Phoenix in scoring with 15.2 points per game and made a team-high 58 three-pointers on 158 attempts.
Defensive Player of the Year went to Saint Elizabeth University senior forward
Pierre Harden (Sicklerville, N.J.). He is the first player from Saint Elizabeth University to win the award in men’s basketball. He averaged ten rebounds a game while swatting away a team-best 19 shots. He had a season-high four blocks against Clarks Summit back on February 4.
Rookie of the Year went to Keystone College freshman guard
Jack Anderson (Davie, Md.). He is the third player from Keystone to win the award in men’s basketball, joining Kenneth Hardnett (2009) and Dan Candameres (2012). In his freshman campaign, Anderson led the Giants in scoring with 19.7 points per game and grabbed 3.9 rebounds a contest. Shooting close to 49 percent from the field, Anderson scored a career-high 32 points in a game against Saint Joseph’s of Brooklyn on December 11.
Coach of the Year went to Wilson College head coach
Mark Seidenburg. He is the second coach from Wilson to win the award in men’s basketball, joining Brian Zoeller who won the award in 2020. In his first season as head coach, Seidenburg led the Phoenix to a 16-7 record and a 12-2 mark in the CSAC. The Phoenix are the top seed in the upcoming playoffs.
The 3-D Award was given to
Bryn Athyn College. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). This is the first time that Bryn Athyn has won the award in men’s basketball.
