CSAC Announces Weekly Award Winners for March 28. 2022

VILLANOVA, Pa - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the Weekly Award winners for March 28, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Men’s Lacrosse, Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field, Women’s Tennis, Softball and Baseball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.  
 
A total of 56 student-athletes were honored.
 
Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Dante Poli | Stockton University | A | Sr. | Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks South
 
Poli scored four goals with three assists for seven points in the win over Misericordia on Saturday. He also had two caused turnovers and a ground ball
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Tyler Horvath | Stockton University  | F/O | So. | Chalfont, Pa./Central Bucks South

Went 23-for-33 on faceoffs against Misericordia, with ten ground balls.

Honor Roll
Keystone’s Noel Gonzalez who had two goals and an assist against Centenary…Cairn’s Joshua Reoun who had a goal and assist against Alvernia…Montclair’s Tyler McCreery who had three goals and five assists against Delaware Valley…Kean’s Brady Moore who had six goals against Maritime…Bryn Athyn’s Jamal White who had four goals in a loss to Bethany...Keystone’s Gabe Reyes who had seven ground balls and three caused turnovers at Centenary…Cairn’s Devin Murphy who had three ground balls and four caused turnovers against Alvernia…Montclair’s Wilson Smith who had six ground balls and two caused turnovers against Delaware Valley…Kean’s Thomas Francy who had 12 saves in a win over Maritime.  
 
 
Men’s Volleyball
Player of the Week
Caleb Horning | Cairn University | OH | Jr. | Adamstown, Pa./Cocalico
 
In a 5-0 week, netted 42 kills to just nine errors for a .423 hitting percentage. Also had 11 service aces.
 
Player of the Week
Josh Moyer | Cairn University | L | Jr. | Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown Community
 
Picked up 34 digs in a 5-0 week for the Highlanders.
 
Honor Roll
Saint Elizabeth’s Frank Rossi, Jr., who had 27 kills for the Eagles in a 2-2 week…Saint Elizabeth’s Joseph Angelo Calayag who had 24 digs in a 2-2 week for the Eagles.
 
Women’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Sara Morales | Notre Dame of Maryland | MF | Jr. | Joppa, Md./Catholic
 
Registered 15 goals in two games on 22 shots. Had eight goals and one assist in a win over New England College. Also had 11 draw controls in a loss to Marymount (Va.).
 
Defensive Player of the Week
Sara Brotons | Centenary University | D | So. | Parsipanny, N.J./Parsippany Hills

Brotons had seven caused turnovers and six ground balls while leading the Cyclones to a 1-1 week. She played a key role in the Cyclones picking up their first win of the season with four ground balls and four caused turnovers in the win over Eastern Mennonite. She also posted three caused turnovers and two ground balls in the season opener against Ramapo.

Keystone’s Krista Strausser who had six goals on the week, including five against Mount Aloysius…Centenary’s Lily Butcher who had five goals in a win over Eastern Mennonite…Cedar Crest’s Maddie Graham who had nine points across two games…Notre Dame’s Brooke Siebert who had six caused turnovers on the week…Keystone’s Samantha Hamlin who forced five turnovers in three games.

Went 6-for-8 in the Cedar Crest doubleheader, with seven RBI to earn the series sweep against the defending champs.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Courtney Cienki | Keystone College | RHP | So. | West Milford, N.J./West Milford
 
Cienki went 2-1 with a 2.26 ERA this week, totaling 21.2 innings with 17 strikeouts and a .145 batting average against. She threw a no-hitter against Cairn in game two with five strikeouts.s.

Keystone’s Lexy Johnson who had six hits on the week, including a walk-off home run against Cairn and her 100th career hit…Wilson’s Alyssa Wenger who went 4-for-6 with two doubles in the sweep of Saint Elizabeth…Cairn’s Abbi Heacock who was 3-for-4 against Keystone…Cedar Crest’s Riley Tremblay who went 10-for-19 in five games and was 6-for-9 against Rosemont…Notre Dame of Maryland Ciarra Bockstie who went 3-for-7 in the series against Clarks Summit…Valley Forge’s Caitlyn Fisher who collected five hits across four games…Wilson’s Naomi Butterfield who had two complete game victories against Saint Elizabeth and Dickinson…Valley Forge’s Laura Medio who had wins over York and Scranton and threw a no-hitter against York (N.Y.), striking out 13…Notre Dame’s Jessie Leatherwood who seven innings and struck out ten in game one against Clarks Summit…Rosemont’s Myora Slaughter who struck out five in picking up a relief win over Cedar Crest.

Went 7-for-10 in the Clarks Summit series, netting six RBI and two stolen bases.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Chris Baumann | Wilson College | LHP | Fr. | Snow Hill, Md./Snow Hill

Picked up 13 strikeouts in five innings in a win over Rosemont.

Cairn’s Samuel Spadea who collected eight hits on the week, including a 7-for-11 spot in the doubleheader against Saint Elizabeth…Wilson’s Alex Seidleck who went 5-for-7 against Rosemont with three RBI and a home run…Keystone’s JD Barrett who went 2-for-3 in a loss to William Paterson…Keystone’s Julian Gonzalez who threw 4.1 innings in Thursday’s home opener, striking out two while allowing one hit…Cairn’s Connor Ferguson who struck out one while walking two in 1.2 innings of work against Saint Elizabeth…Valley Forge’s Stephen Brice who struck out seven in five innings in a win over Clarks Summit.

Won number one singles for Cairn against Gwynedd Mercy with a score of 6-0, 6-4.

Men’s Track and Field
Track Athlete of the Week
Eric Gregory | Gallaudet University | So. | Metairie, La./East Jefferson
Gregory won two events last Saturday at the Blue and Silver Challenge hosted by Christopher Newport University. Gregory came in first in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.69 seconds on a cold and windy day in Newport News, Va. He followed that with a first-place finish in the 400-meter dash as he crossed the finish line in 49.95 seconds. Gregory was also a member of Gallaudet's first-place 4x400 meter relay team that posted a time of 3:32.70.


Field Athlete of the Week
Dylan Perlino | Alfred State College | Sr. | Holland, N.Y./Holland
Perlino started off the 2022 outdoor track and field season by breaking his own program record in the hammer throw at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Friday. Perlino finished fourth overall with a throw of 50.87m (166-10). He threw 11.88m (38-11 ¾) in shot put to place 14th. The next day Perlino won discus with a throw of 48.64m (159-7).

Gallaudet’s Kenmarkis Meeks who cleared 1.94 meters in the high jump, setting a personal record…Penn State Behrend’s Dan Dabrowski who was second in the discus at the Carnegie Mellon Invitational with a threw of 46.91 meters…Penn State Behrend’s Phoenix Myers who set a career best in the 3000m this past weekend at Carnegie Mellon with a time of 8:59.10…Alfred State’s Gavin Bathgate who placed 8th in the 10,000-meters in 33:17.88 and 17th in the 5,000-meters in 15:47.20 at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Saturday to open is outdoor season.
 
Women’s Track and Field
Track Athlete of the Week
Olivia Nola | Penn State-Behrend | Fr. | Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy
Nola registered a second-place finish in the 3000m this past weekend at Carnegie Mellon. In their first outdoor meet of the year, she finished with a time of 11:09.08.
 
Field Athlete of the Week
Hannah Wetzel | Gallaudet University | So. | Fremont, Calif./California School for the Deaf-Fremont
Wetzel finished first in two events last Saturday at the Blue and Silver Challenge hosted by Christopher Newport University. The sophomore placed first in the high jump as she cleared 1.48 meters (four feet, 10.25 inches). Wetzel also won the triple jump with a top leap of 10.72 meters (35 feet, two inches).
 
Honor Roll
Cedar Crest’s Tiffany Kuras threw 35.84 meters in the javelin at the Monarch Invitational… Alfred State’s Nicole Hume who threw 33.91m (111-3) at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Friday to place 24th overall. She finished 24th in shot put also with a throw of 9.78m (32-1)…Cedar Crest’s Kiley Marone who finished nine in the 800m at the Monarch Invitational back on March 19, setting a program record with a time of 2:42.19…Gallaudet’s Ashley Harlicker who finished fifth in the 400, with at ime of 1:05.96…Notre Dame’s Laura Longeway who broke the school record in the 1500m and the 800m with times of 6:24.92 (1500m) and 2:59.83 (800m).
