CSAC Announces Weekly Award Winners for April 25, 2022
VILLANOVA, Pa - The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the Weekly Award winners for April 25, 2022. This includes Players of the Week in Baseball, Softball, Men’s Lacrosse, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s and Women’s Outdoor Track and Field, Women’s Tennis as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport. This will be the last week for Women’s Tennis Players of the Week.
A total of 48 student-athletes were honored.
Men’s Lacrosse
Player of the Week
Luc Swedlund | Stockton University | A | Sr. | Randolph, N.J./Randolph
Swedlund scored 15 goals with four assists in a 3-0 week. The senior eclipsed the 300 point barrier against Arcadia and is the 1st player in Stockton history to achieve that milestone. He leads the CSAC in goals (60) and goals per game (4.29 gpg). He needs 33 goals to break the all-time NCAA D3 record.
Defensive Player of the Week
Christian Baucom | Kean University | FO | So. | Bloomsbury, N.J./North Hunterdon
Won 53-of-58 faceoffs (.913) across three games last week, with 23 ground balls. Was a perfect 17-for-17 on faceoffs against Keystone.

Player of the Week
Payton Gormley | Bryn Athyn College | A | Sr. | Huntingdon Valley, Pa./Abington
Gormley led the Lions to a 2-0 week, with 13 goals, eight assists and seven draw controls.
Defensive Player of the Week
Paulina Storck | Bryn Athyn College | D | Sr. | Philadelphia, Pa./Saint Basil’s Academy
Storck scooped up 12 ground balls and caused seven turnovers in a 2-0 week for the Lions.

VanBuskirk batted 11-for-14 (.786) with 9 RBI and six runs scored in a 4-0 week for the Falcons.

Went 2-0 in conference play, allowed only three hits and had a perfect game in a win over Valley Forge.

Kelly exploded for a new single-game program-record four homers against Clarks Summit in game two on Saturday. He finished the doubleheader 9-for-13 (.692) with a triple, two doubles, four HR, 13 RBI, eight runs, and 25 total bases.

Aiden Patella | Saint Elizabeth University | P | Fr. | Brick, N.J./Brick Memorial
Patella pitched a complete game to clinch a playoff spot on Saturday afternoon against Valley Forge. He had five strike outs and gave up 7 hits, walking none. It was the first 9-inning complete game thrown in St. Elizabeth's history. Patella didn't give up an earned run.

Went undefeated for the week over two matches for Cairn, claiming two 8-0 shutouts at No. 1 doubles. Also earned a 6-0, 6-0 shutout at No. 1 singles against Bryn Athyn on Wednesday before earning a 6-0, 6-1 triumph against Cedar Crest on Saturday in the same position.

Track Athlete of the Week
Eric Stehlik | Penn State-Behrend | Sr. | Northport, N.Y./Northport
Stehlik registered a top-5 finish in each event he competed in over two meets this past weekend. Stehlik logged an AARTFC-qualifying mark, grabbing gold in the 100m in the Behrend Invitational by finishing in 10.96. Stehlik took second place in the 200m at the SRU Open, crossing at 22.52 and played a part in both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams, helping the Lions to a second and third-place finish, respectively.
Field Athlete of the Week
Samuel Hetrick | Penn State-Behrend | So. | New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley
Hetrick continued to stay atop the NCAA Division III ranks in the high jump this past week with a leap of 2.08m, tying for second in the nation. The mark gave him the win in the Behrend Invitational and also took first in the long jump with a leap of 6.25m. Hetrick finished first in the SRU Open on Thursday with a 2.00m high jump and played a role in the 4x100, helping the Lions claim second.

Casey Montaro who complied two top-10 finishes at Misericordia on Friday, placing third in the hammer (40.54m) and sixth in the shot put (9.49m)…Alfred State’s
Gavin Bathgate placed 3rd in the 5000-meters in 15:41.55, and 5th in the 10,000-meters in 32:48.63, at St. John Fisher…Alfred State’s
Dylan Perlino who won the discus and set the facility record of 51.17m at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic. He is now currently 4th in the nation in discus. He also took 2nd in hammer with a throw of 48.01m.

Track Athlete of the Week
Olivia Nola | Penn State Behrend | Fr. | Erie, Pa./Collegiate Academy
Olivia Nola logged four victories this past week, earning first in every event she participated in. Nola started the week by hitting a new PR at the SRU Open, finishing the 5k in 18:24.41. Nola finished the weekend earning gold in three events at the Behrend Invitational, including the 800m, 1500m and as a leg in the 4x800 relay.
Field Athlete of the Week
Hannah Wetzel | Gallaudet University | Jr. | Fremont, Calif./California School for the Deaf-Fremont
Wetzel won the triple jump with a top jump of 10.96 meters on her fourth and final try at the Eastern Shore Challenge hosted by Salisbury University last Saturday. The Bison placed fifth overall. Wetzel placed third in the high jump as she cleared 1.45 meters on her second try.

Caroline Upham who qualified for the AARTFC Championships this weekend, hitting a 1.55m leap in the high jump. Upham took first place in the Behrend Invitational and also registered a fourth-place finish in the long jump…Alfred State’s
Emma Taggert who won the 100-meter hurdles at St. John Fisher with a time of 15.73 and also was third in the high jump at 1.45 meters.
