CSAC Announces 2022 Men's Lacrosse End of Year Awards

VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce its 2022 Men’s Lacrosse End of Year Awards. These awards include All-CSAC (First-Team, Second-Team, Honorable Mention and All-Sportsmanship), as well as Player, Defensive, Rookie of the Year and the 3-D Award.

The student-athletes are nominated by their coaches, who then vote on the team. The coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players.

Player of the Year went to Stockton University junior attack Dante Poli. Poli, a first-team All-CSAC selection, led the team in assists with 53 and was the top point scorer on the team with 103 points (50g, 53a). He recorded a season-high 12 points in a win over Neumann back on March 30.

Defensive Player of the Year went to Montclair State University graduate student and long stick midfielder Wilson Smith. Smith, a first-team All-CSAC selection, he led the Red Hawks with 36 caused turnovers and was third on the team with 58 ground balls. He had a season-high six caused turnovers in a win over Kean.

Rookie of the Year honors went to Kean University freshman attack Nick Thorne. Thorne had a season-high six points in a win over Keystone on April 20.

Coach of the Year honors went to Stockton head coach Kevin Zulauf. Zulauf led the Ospreys to a 14-2 mark and a perfect 6-0 slate in the CSAC. The Ospreys are the number 1 seed in the upcoming CSAC playoffs for the third straight time.

The 3-D Award went to Cairn University. Implemented for the 2011-12 academic year, the Colonial States Athletic Conference 3D Award replaced the CSAC Team Sportsmanship Award. The 3D Award recognizes the teams in each sport that best demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of "Discover, Develop, Dedicate." The 3D Award was conceived and developed by the CSAC Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Cairn, in its first year as a varsity program, went 3-9 overall and 2-4 in the CSAC.
