Rosemont's Strauss selected as CSAC NCAA Woman of the Year Nominee
NCAA Woman of the Year Conference Nominees
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Rosemont College’s
Brittney Strauss has been selected as the Colonial States Athletic Conference’s nominee for the 2022 NCAA Woman of the Year as selected by the conference office. The NCAA Woman of the Year Award honors graduating student-athletes for their collegiate achievements not only athletically, but also in the service, leadership, and academics.
The Woman of the Year Selection Committee, made up of representatives from the NCAA membership, will choose ten nominees from each division to make up the national Top 30 honorees. The Top 30 honorees will be announced in October. From there, the selection committee will narrow the pool to three finalists from each division. The NCAA Committee on Women's Athletics will select the 2022 Woman of the Year from the nine finalists.
At January's NCAA Convention in San Antonio, the national Top 30 honorees will be celebrated, and the NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced.
Strauss was a member of the Rosemont College softball team for four years, while also competing on the soccer team and the tennis team. She supported her fellow student-athletes by being a game-day worker for various Rosemont College events. She was the Rosemont SAAC President as well as the Social Media Coordinator.
Off the field, she was a Political Science Tutor and a Rosemont College Student Ambassador. She also participated in the NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Training (SALT) and was a student representative for the Institute of Ethical Leadership and Responsibility. She did an internship with Super Bowl LVI in Los Angeles, California, and was an Operations Assistant with the NCAA Final Four in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Her community service activities included the American Cancer Society Coaches Vs. Cancer, and serving as a Community Outreach Intern for Be Healthy PA.
She recently graduated from Rosemont Summa Cum Laude with a double major in Sports Governance and Political Science. She finished a perfect 4.00 GPA.
