Rosemont College the top pick in the CSAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Defending champion Rosemont College was the top pick of the coaches in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Preseason Poll released on Wednesday afternoon. The coaches were asked to vote on the order of finish for the teams in the CSAC and were permitted to vote for their own squads.
The Ravens – who won their first Colonial States Athletic Conference title in men’s soccer last season with a thrilling victory over Cairn– finished with 58 points and five first-place votes. Keystone College – who advanced to the semifinals last season – received 53 points and one first-place vote.
Cairn University was third with 51 points and one first-place vote. Saint Elizabeth University – who advanced to semifinals – received 37 points for fourth place.
Bryn Athyn College – who advanced to the first-round of the playoffs – received 36 points and one first-place vote.
Wilson College was sixth with 20 points, followed by Clarks Summit University in seventh with 19 points and University of Valley Forge in eighth with 14 points.
The season begins on Thursday, September 1 with seven games, with Gwynedd Mercy traveling to Clarks Summit at 3:30 p.m. at the first match of the day.
Conference fixtures start on Saturday, October 1, as Bryn Athyn heads to Clarks Summit for a 3 p.m. first kick. Three more league games are set for Saturday, October 8, highlighted by a rematch from last year’s semifinals as Cairn travels to Keystone.
The CSAC Championship, which features the top five teams, will start on Tuesday, November 1 with the first-round game, pitting the fifth seed at the fourth seed. The semifinals will be held on Thursday, November 3 at the higher seeds and conclude with the championship on Saturday, November 5. The winner of the championship will receive the conference’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament.
