Cedar Crest College the top pick in the CSAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Cedar Crest College was the top pick of the coaches in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Preseason Poll released on Thursday afternoon. The coaches were asked to vote on the order of finish for the teams in the CSAC and were permitted to vote for their own squads.
The Falcons, who advanced to the conference semifinals last season, received 96 points and seven first-place votes. Bryn Athyn College – who won its first CSAC title last season with a win over Cairn – was selected second with 93 points and three first-place votes. Wilson College was third with 81 points.
Cairn University was fourth with 77 points. The Highlanders advanced to the CSAC title match last season. Rosemont College was fifth with 58 points, followed by Notre Dame of Maryland University in sixth with 44 points.
Clarks Summit University was seventh with 40 points, followed by Keystone College in eighth with 37 points.
Saint Elizabeth University (ninth – 20 points) and University of Valley Forge (tenth – 11 points), round out the poll.
The season begins on Thursday, September 1 with eight games.
Conference fixtures start on Saturday, September 24, as eight teams are scheduled to clash.
The CSAC Championship, which features the top six teams, will start on Monday, October 31 with the quarterfinal games. The semifinals will be held on Wednesday, November 2 at the higher seeds and conclude with the championship on Saturday, November 5. The winner of the championship will receive the conference's automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament.
