Cedar Crest picked first in CSAC Women's Volleyball Preseason Coaches' Poll
VILLANOVA, Pa. – Defending champion Cedar Crest College was the top pick of the coaches in the 2022 Colonial States Athletic Conference Women’s Volleyball Preseason Poll released on Friday afternoon. The coaches were asked to vote on the order of finish for the teams in the CSAC and were permitted to vote for their own squads.
The Falcons, who won their first CSAC championship last season, received 98 points and nine first-place votes. Notre Dame of Maryland University – who won the last two CSAC titles – was selected second with 86 points. Wilson College was third with 78points.
Cairn University was fourth with 65 points. Saint Elizabeth University followed in fifth with 55 points, while Bryn Athyn College was sixth with 47 points.
Rosemont College was seventh with 40 points and one first-place vote. Keystone College was eighth with 36 points, followed by Clarks Summit University in ninth with 33 points and the University of Valley Forge in tenth with ten points.
The season begins on Thursday, September 1 with eight matches. The conference slate starts on Saturday, October 1, with five matches on the docket.
The CSAC Championship, which features the top six teams, will start on Tuesday, November 1 with the quarterfinal games. The semifinals will be held on Thursday, November 3 at the higher seeds and conclude with the championship on Saturday, November 5. The winner of the championship will receive the conference’s automatic qualifier to the NCAA tournament.
