CSAC Announces Weekly Award Winners for February 20, 2023
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced its Players of the Week for February 20, 2023. This includes Players of the Week in Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, and Men’s Volleyball as well as Honor Roll selections in each sport.
This week’s selections included contests from Monday, February 12 through Sunday, February 19. A total of 35 student-athletes were recognized for their performances.
Men’s Basketball

Zaire Mitchell |Gr. | Rosemont College | F | Phillipsburg, NJ / Phillipsburg HS
Mitchell passed the 1000-point scoring mark for the Ravens in a double OT win vs. Valley Forge on Wednesday. His 29 point, 11 rebound performance against Valley Forge was his 4
th double-double of the season. In the Ravens 2-0 week, Mitchell averaged 22.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal while shooting 63% (20-for-32) from the field. On the CSAC leaderboards, Mitchell is 3
rd in Field Goal Percentage (58.5 %), 9
th in Scoring Average (16.2/game), 7
th in Total Scoring (421 points), 6
th in Total Rebounds (177), 11
th in Blocked Shots (23), and 13
th in Steals (32)
Defensive Player of the Week
D’Angelo Blackmond | Jr. | Saint Elizabeth University | F | Orange, NJ / Orange HS
Blackmond led the Eagles in a 1-1 week as they locked in a playoff berth with a win on Saturday vs. Valley Forge. Against league-leading Cairn, Blackmond had season-high 8 blocks which is the CSAC leader for blocks in a game. On the week, Blackmond averaged 16 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists. At the end of regular season play, Blackmond is tied for 1
st in the CSAC for total Blocked Shots (31), 2
nd in rebounds per game (10.3) and 3
rd in Total Rebounds (236).

Jamal Cannady Jr. averaged 25.5 points, 3.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals on 51% (19-for-37) shooting, including his 1000
th point against Wilson on Wednesday while
Jaryn McCann averaged 10 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 2.5 steals, and 1.5 assists… Cairn’s
Kameron Clark averaged 13 points and 16 rebounds including a CSAC season-high 23-rebound performance vs. Saint Elizabeth while
Mizz Nyagwegwe averaged 15 points and 4 rebounds while shooting 50% (10-for-20) from the field… Clark Summit’s
Ashton West had a career-high 33 points on Saturday against Wilson and averaged 22 points and 7 rebounds on the week to go with 5 assists and a steal while
Garrett Plantz had a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) against Keystone…Keystone’s
Javen Flowers-Smith averaged 25 points per game including a game-high 32 point performance in Wednesday’s win over Clarks Summit while
Shane Rosencrans totaled 8 steals this week, including five against Clarks Summit on Wednesday…Rosemont’s
Jared White averaged 17.5 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.5 blocked shots while shooting 65% (15-for-23) on the week… Saint Elizabeth’s
Pierre Harden averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1.5 steals, 1 block on the week including a 20-point performance against Valley Forge to clinch a spot in the playoffs…. Wilson’s
Antonio Bussey recorded his sixth and seventh double-double of the season in a pair of wins (12 points, 11 rebounds, 1 block vs. Bryn Athyn & 10 points, 10 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 steals vs. Clarks Summit) while
Gary Robertson averaged 13 points, 4 rebounds but handed out 7 assists vs. Bryn Athyn and another 9 assists against Clarks Summit. He now has at least seven assists in the last four games and at least five assists in the last seven games…
Women’s Basketball
Offensive Player of the Week
Kwashanti Holmes | FY | Keystone College | G | Yonkers, N.Y. / Woodlands HS
Holmes averaged 31.0 points per game in a 2-0 week for Keystone, highlighted by a career-high and program-record 43 points vs. Clarks Summit. Against the Defenders, Holmes shot 70% (16-for-23) from the field and tallied the second-ever triple-double in program history (43 points/14 rebounds/10 assists). Holmes finished the regular season 2
nd in Field Goal Percentage (.497), 11
th in Scoring per Game (13.6) and 13
th in Rebounds per Game (7.7), and 11
th in Assists per Game (3.2).
Defensive Player of the Week
Ashley Wilson | Sr. | Cedar Crest College | G | Norwolk, Ct / Norwalk HS
Wilson led the Falcons to a 2-1 week in CSAC play totaling a quadruple-double (88 points, 17 steals, 14 rebounds, 11 assists). Against league-champion Notre Dame on Saturday, Wilson had a season-high 35 points on 58% shooting (14-for-24) including 50% on 3-pointers (6-for-12), 5 steals, 4 assists and 2 rebounds. To finish the season, Wilson is 2
nd in the CSAC in Total Steals (79) and Steals per Game (4.2) while leading the CSAC in Scoring per Game (23.0 points per game).

Keerah Henry averaged 14.5 points, 5 assists, 4 steals, and 2.5 rebounds including a 20-point, 4 assist, 4 steal performance on Saturday vs. Wilson while
Kaylia Duncan averaged 13 points on 65% shooting (11-for17), 4 rebounds, 2 assists as the Lions went 1-1 on the week and locked in the spot in the CSAC playoffs…Cairn’s
Taylor Hinson averaged 29 points on 67% shooting (21-for-38), 13.5 rebounds, 1.5 blocks, 1 steal, and 1 assist while shooting 82% from the FT line (14-for17)… Clarks Summit’s
Elizabeth Singleton averaged a double-double (19.3 points, 13.3 rebounds) on top of 6.3 assists on the week to run her season-total to 12 double-doubles while
Serene Calderon shot 53% from the field (24-for-45) while averaging 19 points and 10.7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4.3 steals during a 2-1 week for the Defenders…Keystone’s
Kaitlyn Slaboda totaled 6 blocks and 17 rebounds, including 4 blocks against Clarks Summit in a 2 OT win, while averaging 15 points and 8.5 rebounds as the Giants had a 2-0 week…Notre Dame (MD)’s
Alexis Durham averaged 23 points, 8 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in the team’s two wins this past week. Durham now has 154 assists this season, the third most in a single season in school history while
Daija Fitchett averaged a double-double (11.5 points, 12.5 rebounds per game) and now has eight double-doubles on the season… Saint Elizabeth’s
Destiny Battle averaged 17 points, 7.5 assists, 6 rebounds, 4 steals while
Kolby Lynch averaged 15 points and 7.5 rebounds including her 11
th double-double of the season (17 points, 10 rebounds vs. Clarks Summit) in a 1-1 week… Wilson’s
Adrianna Stricek had two more double-doubles to run her season-total to 13 while averaging 18 points and 12 rebounds and shooting 71% (15-for-21) from the field while
Samira Murphy averaged 21 points and 11.5 rebounds on the week including 9 total assists, 7 total steals, and 4 blocks including her seventh double-double of the season (17 points, 14 rebounds) against Rosemont.
Men’s Volleyball
Offensive Player of the Week
Jason Raymond | So. | Pratt Institute | OH/Middle Hitter | Blacklick, Oh. / Lincoln HS
Raymond led the Cannoneers with a new career-high of 25 kills against Yeshiva as Pratt picked up its firs win of the season 3-1 (18-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-23). Raymond his .294 (25-10-51) and had seven digs and three aces. The 25 kills nearly matched that of Yeshiva’s 29 as a team. At this point in the season, Raymond is 3
rd in the CSAC with 3.2 Kills/set.
Defensive Player of the Week
Jordan Kieffer | Jr. | University of Valley Forge | Libero | Mohnton, Pa. / Homeschool
Kieffer stabilized the back row with 8 digs as the Patriots swept Neumann 3-0 on Friday. Through the season, Kieffer is 6
th in CSAC play with 2.26 Digs/set.
