CSAC Announces Women’s Basketball End-of-Year Awards for 2022-2023

 VILLANOVA, Pa. -  The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2022-2023 All-CSAC Women’s Basketball team.  The team, composed of players from all ten CSAC institutions that sponsor women’s basketball, was voted upon by the coaches in the league.
 
The team includes first, second, and honorable mention All-CSAC honorees.  Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and Coach of the Year were awarded as well as All-Sportsmanship honorees.
 
For the second season in a row, Player of the Year is awarded to Clarks Summit University graduate student Elizabeth Singleton.  Averaging 21.0 points (3rd in CSAC), 9.9 rebounds (3rd in CSAC), 5.3 assists (4th in CSAC) and 2.5 steals (10th in CSAC), Singleton led the Defenders to their 2nd straight CSAC Championship game; falling this season to Notre Dame (MD) after last season’s victory and NCAA Tournament appearance.  Additionally, Singleton holds the single-game high scoring output for this season with 45 points vs. Penn St-Wilkes Barre on November 9th, 2022. 
 
Defensive Player of the Year went to Saint Elizabeth sophomore Destiny Battle.  The 2021-22 CSAC Co-Rookie of the Year, Battle led the Eagles with 16.0 points per game, and led the CSAC in Total Steals (119) and Steals per Game (4.4); including 11 steals vs. Cairn on November 30, 2022.  In five separate games this season, Battle had 7 or more steals.  Battle also pulled down 197 rebounds from the guard spot averaging 7.3 Rebounds per Game. 
 
Rookie of the Year went to Adrianna Stricek from Wilson.  Stricek led the Phoenix in scoring at 13.4 points per game and was 11th in Total Points Scored in the CSAC (336 points), was 4th in the CSAC averaging 9.4 rebounds per game.  On January 11th, 2023, Stricek scored a season-high 37 points vs. Saint Elizabeth.  This is the first CSAC Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Year for Wilson College.
 
Coach of the Year was awarded to Kalin Wynn from Notre Dame.  The 2021-2022 CSAC Coach of the Year, Wynn led the Gators to a 21-4 regular season record including a 17-1 record in CSAC play.  This season, the Gators won their first CSAC Tournament championship and will enter the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2007.
