CSAC Announces Fall 2022 Team Academic Award Winners
VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) has announced the receipts of the Team Academic Awards for Fall 2022. Eligible teams come from the conference’s ten core and two associate members institutions during the Fall 2022 semester.
Established prior to the start of the 2013-14 academic year, the CSAC Team Academic Award is given annually to each varsity sports team whose student-athletes, while competing in conference-sponsored sports, achieve the highest combined grade point average. Grade point average calculations correspond with the student-athletes' season of participation during the sport’s traditional season. The Fall 2022 Team Academic Awards are based on each team's combined GPA from the Fall 2022 semester only.
Bryn Athyn College took home two awards, scoring the top GPA in Women’s Volleyball with a 3.626 and Men’s Cross country with a 3.485.
Cedar Crest College Women’s Cross Country team reached a 3.765, the highest of any team in the Fall 2022 semester.
In Women’s Soccer,
Wilson College topped the league with at 3.652 GPA.
Keystone College had the highest GPA in Field Hockey with a 3.63.
In Men’s Soccer,
Cairn University had the top GPA with a 3.222.
The 2023 CSAC Spring Team Academic Award will be announced at the conclusion of the spring semester. The honor roll will include winter sports (men’s & women’s basketball) as well as spring sports (men’s volleyball, men’s lacrosse, women’s lacrosse, baseball, softball, women’s tennis, men’s outdoor track & field, women’s outdoor track & field).
The CSAC is comprised of ten core members: Bryn Athyn College, Cairn University, Cedar Crest College, Clarks Summit University, Keystone College, Notre Dame University of Maryland, Rosemont College, St. Elizabeth University, University of Valley Forge, and Wilson College. Associate members include: Lancaster Bible College (field hockey & men’s volleyball, Sweet Briar College (field hockey & women’s lacrosse), Pratt Institute (men’s volleyball), Penn State-Behrend (men’s & women’s outdoor track & field), Alfred State College (men’s and women’s outdoor track & field), and Gallaudet University (men’s and women’s outdoor track & field).
