Penn-St. Behrend Picked First in CSAC Men's Track & Field Coaches Poll

VILLANOVA, Pa. – Penn State-Behrend was selected as the favorite in the 2023 Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) preseason poll conducted among the league’s men’s track & field coaches.
 
Behrend collected two first-place votes for a total of 14 points and a first-place finish in the preseason poll.  The Lions won their sixth straight title in 2022 accumulating 302 points in the CSAC Championship meet.
 
Alfred State College comes in a close second place with 12 points and two first-place votes.  Last season’s runner-up looks to close the gap on the Lions.
 
Gallaudet picked up 9 votes for a third-place finish while Keystone accumulated 4 votes to round out the four outdoor track & field programs.
 
Initial outdoor meets began on Saturday, March 18th with Keystone at the King’s College Monarch Invite.  Penn St.-Behrend opens up outdoors Friday and Saturday, March 24-25th at Carnegie Mellon while Gallaudet begins outdoor season at Christopher Newport’s Blue & Silver Challenge on March 25th.  Alfred St. opens outdoor season on Saturday, April 1st at SUNY-Geneseo.
 
The CSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships are set for Saturday, May 6th and Sunday, May 7th hosted by Gallaudet University in Washington D.C. 
 
NCAA Division III Championships are hosted by St. John Fisher University at the Polisseni Track and Field Complex in Rochester, NY on May 25-27, 2023.  National qualifiers will be released on Friday, May 19th
