The Lancaster Bible College men's volleyball team opened the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) playoffs hosting #4 Wilson on Tuesday night at the Horst Athletic Center. The Chargers cruised to a 3-0 sweep over the Phoenix as they improve to 20-10 overall and 7-0 in conference and move on to the CSAC Championship which will be hosted at home on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.

How It Happened: Right from the start the Chargers looked to make a statement as senior outside hitter Elijah Herb sent a kill straight down to give the Chargers their first point of the night. The Chargers found themselves with a 16-7 lead in the middle of the first set but sensing the game slip away the Phoenix put together a run to bring it within seven points 19-12. Despite the Phoenix effort the Chargers proved too strong and won the first set 25-13.

The Chargers jumped out to an early 12-3 lead in the second set behind strong serves and two big blocks from Dawson Forney and Kevin Koch. Continuing the offensive power, the Chargers raced to a 25-12 win to give them a 2-0 advantage.

Looking to close it out and advance to the Championship, the Chargers began with two huge kills from Herb and a big block from Christian Herr and DJ Omogrosso. Another block this time from Herr and Hunter Davis capped off by another Herb kill made it 8-3. Coming down the stretch Zach Herb and Forney both added kills and Omogrosso added one more block. The Chargers completed the sweep winning the third set 25-14.

By the Numbers: The Chargers racked up 25 kills and 11 aces while adding seven blocks and 22 digs… the Phoenix had 15 kills and two aces with 17 digs… Elijah Herb had a game high 10 kills while Forney had five kills and Jake Rotelle had four kills… Hunter Davis added six aces and three blocks… Christian Herr had 22 assists and four blocks… Tyler Martin had a game high six digs.
