CSAC Announces Men's Lacrosse End-of-Year Awards for 2023

VILLANOVA, Pa. -  The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2023 All-CSAC Men’s Lacrosse team.  The team, composed of players from all four CSAC institutions that sponsor men’s lacrosse, was voted upon by the coaches in the league.

The team includes All-CSAC honorees as well as Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, and All-Sportsmanship honorees.  The student-athletes were nominated by their coaches and voted upon by the conference’s four head coaches who were not permitted to vote for their own players.

Player of the Year went to Rosemont College graduate student Mason Dennis (North Wales, PA / Frankford HS).  The midfielder was all over the CSAC leaderboards on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball, finishing on the offensive side 3rd with 58 Total Points, 4th with 4.14 Points per Game, 5th in Total Goals with 32, 6th in Goals per Game with 2.29, 2nd in Total Assists with 26, and 3rd in Assists per Game with 1.86.  Defensively, Dennis was 3rd in the CSAC with 25 total Caused Turnovers, with a 1.79 Caused Turnover per game average, and 3rd in Ground Balls (85) and Ground Balls per Game with 6.07.  Dennis was previously named All-CSAC in 2022 (Second Team) and 2021 (Honorable Mention).

Defensive Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year went to Keystone College first-year Cody Dembski (Agoura Hills, CA / Agoura HS).  Dembski had a big first season in CSAC play leading the conference in Ground Balls with 163 and Ground Balls per Game with a 12.54 per game average.  The Ground Balls per Game average is good for 4th in NCAA Division III.  Dembski also has a .687 Face-Off Winning Percentage, good for 9th in NCAA Division III.  This is the first CSAC Men’s Lacrosse Rookie of the Year and first Defensive Player of the Year for Keystone College and second First-Team honoree in program history (Gabe Reyes in 2022).

Coach of the Year was awarded to Jack Crawford from Bryn Athyn College.  This is the first CSAC Coach of the Year nod for Crawford who has numerous Coach of the Year awards at the high school level.  In his third full season in charge, Crawford led the Lions back to the playoffs ultimately earning the #3 seed in the CSAC Men’s Lacrosse Tournament.
