CSAC Announces Men's Track and Field End-of-Year Awards

VILLANOVA, Pa. -  The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2023 All-CSAC Men’s Track and Field End-of-Year Award winners.   Awards include All-CSAC (First Team, Second Team, Honorable Mention, and All-Sportsmanship) as well as Coach of the Year in both men’s track and field.

The All-CSAC team is composed of eligible student-athletes from all four institutions that sponsor men’s track and field.  Athletes earned All-CSAC based upon their finish at the 2023 CSAC Track and Field Championship, May 6-7 at Gallaudet University.

The Track Athlete of the Year was Gallaudet junior Eric Gregory (Metairie, LA / East Jefferson HS).  The 2022 CSAC Track Athlete of the Year and 2022 National Outdoor Track Athlete of the Year had another big meet with five wins in five events - 100m, 200m, a new CSAC record in the 400m, a win as the third leg of the 4x100 relay team, and a new CSAC record running the third leg of Gallaudet’s 4x400 relay team.  Gregory is the CSAC-record holder in the 100m, 200m, 400m, and 4x400 relay team.

The men’s Field Athlete of the Year was Alfred State senior Dylan Perlino (Holland, NY / Holland HS).  Last year’s Field Athlete of the Year, Perlino won the shot put and discus in addition to winning and breaking his own CSAC Championship record hammer throw over the weekend.

Alfred State also had the men’s Rookie of the Year in Nick Florczak (Buffalo, NY / Depew HS).  Florczak finished second in the 200m, third in the 100m, and the 4x100 relay team finished 2nd as well.

Coach of the Year for the men went to Greg Cooper of Penn St. Behrend as the Lions won both men’s and women’s team titles in 2023.  This is the men’s 7th straight CSAC championship.
