CSAC Announces Women's Track and Field End-of-Year Awards

VILLANOVA, Pa. -  The Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) is proud to announce the 2023 All-CSAC Women’s Track and Field End-of-Year Award winners.   Awards include All-CSAC (First Team, Second Team, Honorable Mention, and All-Sportsmanship) as well as Coach of the Year in women’s track and field.
 
The All-CSAC team is composed of eligible student-athletes from all six institutions that sponsor women’s track and field.  Athletes earned All-CSAC based upon their finish at the 2023 CSAC Track and Field Championship, May 6-7 at Gallaudet University.
 
Penn St. Behrend’s Olivia Nola (Erie, PA / Collegiate Academy) was named CSAC Track Athlete of the Year, after securing wins in the 800m, the 5000m, and setting a new CSAC Championship record in the 1,500m surpassing the old mark by 12 seconds.  Penn St. Behrend also had the women’s Rookie of the Year as Bethany Litwiler (Reynolds, PA / Reynolds HS) won the 10,000m and came in second in the 3,000m Steeplechase.
 
Gallaudet’s Hannah Wetzel (Fremont, CA / California School for the Deaf-Fremont) was named CSAC Field Athlete of the Year.  Wetzel set a new conference, and school, record in the high jump, won the triple jump, placed third in the long jump, won the 200m, and ran a leg on the third place 4x100 relay.  Gallaudet’s Bryon Moore was named Women’s Coach of the Year.
 
Penn St – Behrend won the women’s team championship for the sixth time in the past seven seasons.
