No 2 Seeded Ravens Advance in CSAC Tournament

Allentown, PA - The Rosemont Ravens took on the No 3 St. Elizabeth Eagles in bracket play of the CSAC Tournament. Lauren Begg (10-9) took the ball for the Ravens while Kaitlynne McCarthy took the ball for St. E's. The Ravens put up four in the first inning following a string of hits and stolen bases by All-CSAC nominee, Kendyll Strohl, All-CSAC/ All-American nominee, Lauren Begg, All-CSAC nominee and 2X Captain, Emily Bingman, All-CSAC Nominee, Olivia Hamme, All-CSC Nominee and 3X Captain, Analisa Yoder, and All-CSAC nominee, Jade Gomez-Chavarria. The Ravens stole 5 bases on 5 attempts in the game. St. E's pushed three runs across the plate in the top of the 3rd after a leadoff walk and back to back doubles. All-CSAC nominee and 2X Captain, Dani Sharpe took over in the circle, and with the stout Ravens defense behind her, shut the Eagles down. The Ravens offense answered by plating 2 more as they knocked McCarthy out of the game in the 4th for Kami DeGaetani. The Ravens got to DeGaetani in the 6th with the usual suspects (Begg, Bingman, Hamme, Yoder, Gomez-Chavarria) putting the game comfortably out of reach. After a leadoff single, Sharpe and the Ravens defense shut the Eagles down. Ravens 9, Eagles 3.
The Ravens advanced to play the winner of the No 1 Cedar Crest Falcons v No 4 Wilson Phoenix. The Phoenix outlasted the Falcons and advanced in CSAC bracket play.
Game 5 of the CSAC Bracket play pitted the No 4 Phoenix against the No 2 Ravens. Lauren Begg took to the circle for the Ravens and Fr. Paige Dill took the ball for the Phoenix. Wilson touched Begg for a leadoff single by Addyson Stewart, who advanced to second on a fielder's choice. Jr. Allyssa Wenger, knocked a single through the middle to put the Ravens in a 1st and 3rd situation. 2X All-CSAC Catcher, Captain Emily Bingman, promptly gunned down the speedy Wenger to shut down the threat. The Ravens drew first blood in the bottom of the inning. Kylee Kubitschek singled and stole second, advanced to 3rd on a passed ball. Lauren Begg singled up the middle, driving in Kubi. Begg stole second. Hamme singled up the middle scoring Begg, Bingman reached on a fielder's choice, and she stole second. Yoder walked and Bingman stole 3rd. Ravens had the Phoenix in a 1st and third, and the Phoenix could not handle the pressure. Yoder created a run down and Bingman stole home. It was all the scoring the Ravens need to advance to the CSAC Chamionship game for the second consecutive year. Ravens notch 7 hits and 7 stolen bases. Ravens 4, Phoenix 1.
Ravens play Game 1 of Championship at 2 pm. They await the winner of the Eagles and Phoenix who play at 12 noon.
