2001-02 Men's Basketball Pre-Season Poll

October 29, 2001

PAC Coaches Tab Cabrini to Repeat

Aston, PA— Cabrini is favored to repeat as Pennsylvania Athletic Conference champions, according to the 2001-2002 PAC pre-season coaches poll.

Cabrini earned 73 points and five of nine first place votes.

“I’m surprised and flattered to be selected by the coaches to win the PAC championship,” said Cabrini head coach John Dzik, who has guided the Cavaliers to seven PAC titles. “I think this is more a reflection of the respect our program has earned due to past success as opposed to this particular team in this particular year.”

Alvernia, the runner-up a year ago, was second with 71 points and two first place votes. Neumann, a semi-finalist a year ago, is third with 62 points and two first place votes.

Misericordia, also a PAC semi-finalist last season, is close behind in fourth with 61 points.

Gwynedd-Mercy (39), Eastern (33), Wesley (32), Marywood (18) and Arcadia (16) round out the poll.
