PAC Men's Lacrosse Postseason Tournament
Championship Round- Saturday, April 27, 2002
@ #1 Cabrini 6, #3 Wesley 3
Sophomore Antonio Masone stopped 14 of the 17 shots he faced, and senior Tom Lemieux had one goal and three assists, as Cabrini College defeated Wesley College, 6-3, to win its second straight men's lacrosse PAC Championship. With the win, the Cavaliers earn the Conference's first-ever bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament.
Masone was named the game¹s Most Valuable Player for his performance. He stopped seven of the Wolverines eight shots in the second half. Wesley goaltender John Reed made 17 saves in the losing effort.
With the game tied at 2-2 late in the first half, Cabrini freshman Rory Friel converted a feed from Lemieux to give the Cavaliers a one-goal advantage at the half.
After being held scoreless on their five man-advantages in the first half, Cabrini converted both of its opportunities in the third quarter to extend its lead to 5-2. Friel and Lemieux hooked up again with 6:32 to play in the quarter, and sophomore Mike Piccoli scored off a pass from Lemieux 27 seconds later.
The Wolverines crept back within two with 8:37 to play in the contest, as sophomore Mark Skakle scored his second goal of the contest. However, Masone made a few key saves down the stretch, and Cabrini junior Mike Pape set the final score with an unassisted goal with 1:12 remaining in the game.

Semifinal Round- Wednesday, April 24, 2002
@ #1 Cabrini 22, #4 Neumann 6
T. Jay Fairlie scored six goals and Tom Lemieux added three goals and eight assists as Cabrini College defeated Neumann College, 22-6, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference men¹s lacrosse semifinal. The win was the 13th in a row for the Cavaliers, who will host Wesley College in the Championship Game on Saturday. Wesley, seeded third, defeated Villa Julie College, 17-4.
Cabrini came out firing in the first quarter, scoring eight times to take command of the contest. Fairlie and Rory Friel (three goals, five assists) each scored twice in the opening seven minutes to give Cabrini a 4-0 advantage. Lemieux finished the quarter with two goals and three assists.
The Cavaliers continued to dominate in the second quarter, tallying the first seven goals of the stanza to take a 15-0 advantage. Fairlie scored three times in the quarter, and Lemieux continued his torrid pace, scoring one goal and handing out five helpers. His 11 points were a career-high.

#3 Wesley 17, @ #2 Villa Julie 4
Derrick Quillen scored a game-high seven goals and added two assists as the Wolverines (7-6, 5-2) routed the Mustangs, 17-4, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference semi-final game. Josh Wyatt added four goals and two assists.
The Wesley defense was rock-solid, holding Villa Julie (5-8, 5-2) scoreless until Ed Wienecke put VJ on the board with 4:07 remaining in the half. Wienecke led the Mustangs with two goals. Dan Velez added a goal with 35 seconds remaining in the half and Wesley led, 8-2.
The Wolverines then went on a 5-0 run in the third period to extend their lead to 13-2. Wesley's defense limited Villa Julie to only one goal in 13 extra-man opportunities, and also scored three times in man-down situations. VJ actually had more shots (38-35) and groundballs (50-39) than WC, but Wesley's overall defense simply shut down the Mustang offense, avenging a 10-7 Villa win at Wesley back in March.
