Sunday, May 4, 2003 (@Cabrini, Radnor, PA)

Game 7- #2 Misericordia 3, #3 Arcadia 1 (Arcadia eliminated)
Game 8- #1 Cabrini 2, #2 Misericordia 0 (Cabrini earned NCAA berth)

Junior Angela Templin pitched a two-hit shutout, and Tournament MVP senior Rita Horning was 2-for-3 with the game's only RBI, as Cabrini College (33-6) defeated College Misericordia (26-12), 2-0, for its fourth consecutive Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) title. The Lady Cavs earned a bid to the NCAA Division III Tournament, also for the fourth consecutive season.

Templin and Misericordia starter Rachael Matthews exchanged zeroes through five innings. After Templin set the Lady Cougars down in order in the top of the sixth, Cabrini finally pushed across two runs in the bottom of the inning. Freshman Jen Taggart led off with a line single to left and advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt by Heather DiLalla. Horning followed a single to left-center, and Taggart beat the throw to the plate to give Cabrini a 1-0 lead. Horning advanced to second on the throw, moved to third on a single by Brooke Peterdozzi and scored when Misericordia's Amber Lazorka could not handle a hard groundball off the bat of Shannon Murphy.

Templin took the hill for the top of the seventh with a no-hitter intact, but Lazorka singled to left to start the frame. One out later Kirsten Lazorka singled to put runners at first and second. Templin got Angela Wincek to pop out to right field for the second out of the inning, with the runners holding. Misericordia's Melissa Eck worked the count to 2-0, then lined Templin's next offering back through the middle. The pitcher deflected the line drive with her bare hand to shortstop Heather Tu, who flipped to Peterdozzi at second base for the force play to end the game.

Templin allowed a leadoff walk to A. Lazorka to start the game. Lazorka was doubled off first to end the inning, and Templin faced the minimum 18 batters through the first six innings. It was the fourth straight time these two teams had met for the PAC Championship.

Misericordia advanced to the Championship Game after eliminating Arcadia University in the first game of the day, 3-1. The Lady Cougars scored three times in the top of the third, with the big blow coming on Tiffany Gray's RBI double.

Mindi Brown went the distance for Misericordia, allowing three hits and one run. Arcadia's Becky Kimble, who started all three of the Scarlet Knights contests in the Tournament, took the loss, allowing the three runs, two earned, in four innings of work.
