2008-09 Women's Basketball Pre-Season Coaches' Poll

Aston, Pa. – Gwynedd-Mercy College’s Women’s Basketball team was selected as the pre-season favorite in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) coaches’ poll. The 2007-2008 conference runner-up received eight (8) of the twelve possible first-place votes and earned 140 points in the poll.

The 2007-08 Women’s Basketball conference champions, Cabrini College, earned three of the remaining first place votes, finishing second overall and in the CSAC South with 131 points in the poll. Neumann College rounded out the top three overall and in the South Division with 122 points and the final first place vote.

“We are honored that the conference coaches selected us as the pre-season favorite,” said Gwynedd-Mercy head coach, Keith Mondillo. “After losing three starters from last year’s team, this was unexpected considering how strong many of the other programs in the CSAC are.”

Immaculata University (95), College of Notre Dame (48) and Rosemont College (46) rounded out the voting in the CSAC South.

In the CSAC North, Centenary College finished first, earning 95 points in the poll. Marywood University was selected as the runner-up in the North Division with 87 points, followed by Philadelphia Biblical University (59), Keystone College (48), Baptist Bible College (40), and Cedar Crest College (22).
