ROSEMONT, Pa. – Centenary University junior guard
Chris LaBelle and freshman forward
D'Angelo Blackmond were named as the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Player and Defensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon by the conference office. The award includes games from December 16, 2019 to January 5, 2020.
LaBelle averaged 27 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while leading the Cyclones to a 3-1 mark over the winter break. The junior scored a career-high 36 points, 28 of which came in the second half in the comeback win over Delaware Valley. LaBelle scored at least 22 points in all four games over break. He shot 55.7 percent from the field and was an impressive 34-for-41 (82.9%) from the foul line in that stretch.
Blackmond averaged eight rebounds and 12.3 points per game while leading the Cyclones to a 3-1 mark over the winter break. Blackmond posted double digit rebounds in two of the four games, including a season-high 15 boards against Brooklyn. He had at least one block in three of the four games and recorded at least one steal in three of the four contests.
